PARIS, FR: Paris based, Belle Époque Films (BÉF) and Hudson West Productions, LLC (HWP) have reached an agreement to have Belle Époque Film represent Devouring Venus at the prestigious Cannes Marché du Film, May 17-26. According the market’s website, “The Marché du Film is the most important event of the film industry and the meeting point of more than 12,000 professionals, including 3,200 producers, 1,200 sales agents, 1,750 buyers and 800 festival organizers.”
Marty Hardin, the film’s director shared that he had met had met BÉF’s CEO, Jenna Suru, at the American Film Market back in 2015. They had worked on a previous project together and had also remained friends. “I knew that Belle Époque was committed to film as both an art form and as a business. I couldn’t think of any company that would take as deep a personal interest in Devouring Venus as they would. And, with Jena’s previous sales and distribution experience at Gaumont, 42films, Cake Entertainment and others, I feel very fortunate to have Belle Époque Films representing our project.”
Ms. Suru stated that “Every year we only select 2 or 3 projects to take to Cannes. We feel this allows us to truly focus on the films we have chosen. This year we will be adding Devouring Venus to our representation. There are many similarities to Marty’s vision as a filmmaker and ours with the films that we choose to represent.”
Belle Époque Films has offices in Paris, London, and Los Angeles, California with associates in Asia.
